GP Registrar Strike Action Dates: Wednesday 17th December to Monday 22nd December

We wish to inform our patients that some of our GP registrars will be participating in the upcoming strike action by resident doctors.

Why are they striking?

Since 2008, resident doctors have experienced a real-terms pay cut of over 26%. The strike action is a campaign for full pay restoration, which aims to protect the essential NHS services we all rely on by addressing the crisis in specialty training places.

How does this affect your care?

As our GP registrars are not in the practice during the strike, we will have fewer appointments available than normal. This may result in delays in non-urgent care and follow-ups.

How you can help:

  • Attend your appointment unless contacted: If you have an appointment booked during the strike, please attend as planned unless we – have contacted you directly to reschedule.
  • Non-urgent issues: If your problem can be dealt with on a non-strike day, we would be grateful if you could call back after the strike has – finished.
  • Urgent care: Do not put off seeking urgent care. For emergencies, please call 999. For urgent health needs that are not life-threatening, contact NHS 111 online or by phone for advice on the right place for your care.
  • Medication: Ensure you have enough of your prescribed medications. You can order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App or your GP practice website.

We apologise for any inconvenience this unavoidable action may cause and thank you for your understanding and support.

Fair pay protects the services we all rely on.
